Zamora Named to NAIA National Championship All-Tournament Team

Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist Senior Women's Soccer defender Alicia Zamora was named to the 2023 NAIA National Championship All-Tournament team on Tuesday.

The native of Valladolid, Spain, captained Central's defensive backline through three national tournament games, including an appearance in the NAIA National quarterfinals, marking the second time in the last three years.

Through three games, Zamora and the Eagles allowed only two goals while posting a 2-1 record through the Opening Round and the Round of 16.

In her final season, Zamora led Central to a 19-3-1 overall record, including a perfect 11-0 mark in the Heart of America. Central clinched its fifth-straight Heart Regular Season Championship and punched its ticket to the national tournament for the seventh consecutive year.

She scored five goals in 2023 including the game winner against No. 16 John Brown and Benedictine College.
