Fayette, Mo. - The No. 10 Central Methodist Women's Soccer team used three first half goals to cruise past Missouri Baptist University, 3-0 Monday night at Davis Field.
The Eagles improve to 3-1 on the early season, while the Spartans drop to 1-3.
It didn't take long for Central to get on the board, as Eduarda Fuculo found the back of the net on a set piece in just the third minute of the game, with the assist coming from Lacey Ann Murray.
Less than 10 minutes later, CMU was fouled inside the box which gave the Eagles an opportunity at a penalty kick. Senior defender Alicia Zamora converted the PK, putting CMU up 2-0.
Murray scored her fourth goal of the year on a shot that just found the inside of the far post for the score.
Central's defense finished the night holding Missouri Baptist to just six shots, including two on frame. The CMU offense fired off 15 shots including 10 on goal.
Candela Blanco Esteban got her first career start in between the posts, recording two saves in a full 90 minutes of action.
Central will remain at home to host John Brown University Saturday, Sept. 9 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
