No. 10 Central Cruises Past William Woods, 3-0

Fulton, Mo. - The No. 10 Central Methodist Women's Soccer team cruised past William Woods University, 3-0, Wednesday evening in Fulton, Mo. 

The Eagles improve to 3-0 on the early season, while the Owls fall to 1-2. 

The first goal of the game, came from newcomer Mariana Barreto in the 20th minute of play, her second of the year. Central held a 1-0 lead through the remainder of the first half and entering the halftime break. 

Just four minutes into the second half, Lacey Ann Murray notched her team leading third goal of the year. Celine Witt cemented the victory in th 59th minute with the third and final goal of the game. 

As a team, Central finished the evening with 23 total shots, including 12 on goal. The Owls tallied just nine shots with four on frame. Barreto led all Eagles with five shots, followed by Murray with four. Witt and Alicia Zamora fired off three shots apiece. 

Max De Armas Colombo started all 90 minutes in goal, making four saves in the victory. 

Central returns home to host Missouri Baptist University Monday, Sept. 4 at 5:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
