Coleman Lee

Coleman Lee

Coleman Lee completed his fourth season as head coach of the Central Methodist volleyball program in 2022, after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach with the Eagles.

Entering the 2023 season, Lee has compiled a 98-29 record, averaging nearly 25 wins/season. In four seasons at the helm, he has led Central to four straight NAIA National Tournaments, three straight trips to the Heart Tournament Championship, and a Conference Tournament title in 2019.

In 2019, Lee led the Eagles to a 33-4 overall record. The record tied for the fewest losses in school history while setting the highest single-season winning percentage in school history (.892). The squad also reached the highest national ranking in program history after being tabbed at No. 10 in the final national poll. Lee was also recognized as the Heart Coach of the Year in 2019.

Central secured its second consecutive trip to the NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship, finishing in the Round of 16 after securing the program’s first-ever appearance in bracket play. The Eagles earned an automatic bid to the final site after topping Grand View in a five-set thriller, earning the program’s first conference tournament title since 2003.

In his first two seasons as an assistant, Lee helped guide the Eagles to a 56-20 record, including a trip to the NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship for the first time in school history. During his time at Central Methodist, Coach Lee has helped train four All-Americans, two Heart Players of the Year, one Heart Freshman of the Year, and 18 All-Conference selections

Prior to arriving at Central Methodist, Lee spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster College. He helped lead the team to an overall record of 41-24 and two conference championship appearances.

Lee also serves as the Director of Operations at 417 Columbia. In eight seasons running a club, he has sent close to 100 student-athletes on scholarships to the collegiate level. He has placed 417 Columbia squads in the top 25 of the HOA Region in every season, including multiple top-15 finishes and top four appearances at national qualifiers. His teams have also secured bids to Nationals in the 14s, 17s, and 18s division. Lee also operates college preparatory camps across the state of Missouri and continues to grow the game of volleyball at the highest and most competitive level possible in mid-Missouri.

Prior to his time on a college bench, Lee had stints as the head coach at both Wheaton and Fulton High School.

Lee is a 2010 graduate of Drury University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in History and his Elementary Teaching Certificate.
