Lexington, Ken. - Central Methodist senior libero Krystal Brauner was named an Honorable Mention NAIA All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association Monday afternoon.
This marks the first All-America recognition for the senior in her career. She also joins teammate Callie Henson, who was named to the AVCA NAIA All-American Second Team.
Brauner, who completed her final season with the Eagles this fall, racked up numerous regional and conference honors. She was named to the AVCA All Midwest Region First Team, and was tabbed as the Heart of America Conference Defender of the Year and a First Team All-Conference selection.
Brauner led the Eagles with 573 total digs and a conference best 5.12 digs/set through 33 matches.
In addition, she recorded 20 service aces and tallied a season's best 41 digs against Loyola on Sept. 2. Brauner was recognized as the Heart Defender of the Week on Sept. 4 and Sept. 25. Altogether, she registered double-digit digs in 30 of the 33 matches played in.
Brauner finishes her time as Central's all-time leader in career-digs with 2,764, and is second all-time in career service aces (146).
She concludes her time at CMU as an AVCA All-American, a two-time AVCA All-Region selection, a five-time Heart All-Conference First Team honoree, the Heart Defender of the Year (2023), and Heart Freshman of the Year (2019).
