Henson Tabbed as NAIA and AVCA Second Team All-American

Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist senior opposite hitter Callie Henson was tabbed as an NAIA Second Team All-American, which was announced by the national office Monday.

In addition, Henson earned Second Team All-American honors by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association.

Henson, a native of Jefferson City, MO., earned second team honors after being listed on the third team in 2021 and 2022. In her final season with the Eagles, Henson was named to the AVCA-NAIA All Midwest Region first team, and was recognized as both the Heart of America Conference Player and Attacker of the Year.

She also earned Heart First Team All-Conference honors for the fourth consecutive season after leading the team in total kills (313) and kills/set (3.07) in 2023.

Additionally, Henson's kills/set average was good for fourth best in the conference while her hitting percentage (.315) was third best in the Heart. Henson appeared in 32 matches and 102 total sets, racking up double-digit kills on 20 different occasions. She tallied a season-high 20 kills in a five-set match victory over Benedictine College Oct. 27.

Henson was named the Heart Attacker of the Week on Oct. 31 and concludes her time at CMU as the program record holder for career kills (1,514). She set the aforementioned record against Columbia College on Oct 30. Henson holds the fifth spot all-time in CMU career total blocks with 305.

She finishes her remarkable collegiate career as a four-time Heart First Team All-Conference selection, three-time First Team All-Region selection, a two-time Heart Attacker of the Year and the Heart Player of the Year.

On the national stage Henson is a three-time NAIA All-American, the first known three-time All-American in CMU program history.
