Fayette, Mo. - The No. 18 Central Methodist Volleyball team completed back-to-back sweeps against Hannibal-LaGrange and Southwestern College in a Friday night triangular inside Puckett Field House.
Central started off the day with a three-set sweep of Hannibal-LaGrange (25-7, 25-5, and 25-13), before securing a sweep of Southwestern College (25-9, 25-16, 25-17).
Against the Trojans, Central finished the night hitting .373 as a team, compared to -.155 for HLG. Kelsie Walker led the Eagle attack with seven kills on nine swings for a hitting percentage of .667.
Annabelle Maassen and Delaney Miller each tallied six kills, while Maassen added seven digs, four service aces and a pair of assists in the win.
Callie Henson matched Maassen and Miller with six kills on 14 swings in addition to three digs and a block assist.
Gabi Owczarek dished out a team best 21 assists and added six digs.
Against the Moundbuilders, Henson led Central with 11 kills while adding two digs and an assist for good measure. Sydney Healy recorded nine kills, followed by Morgan LeBlanc with eight and Miller and Joana Milho seven.
Krystal Brauner led the defense with 23 digs while Maassen chipped in 10. Owczarek and Ryleigh McBurney dished out 20 and 19 assists respectively.
The Eagles improve to 6-4 and will open conference play against Benedictine College Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Puckett Field House.
