Columbia, Mo. - The No. 19 Central Methodist Volleyball team fell in a pair of Top 25 matchups Friday afternoon at the Columbia College Tournament in Columbia, Mo.
The Eagles were edged in five sets by No. 22 Ottawa (25-19, 22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 11-15) before falling to No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan in straight sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) in game two.
Against the Braves, senior Delaney Miller led the offensive attack with 13 kills on 24 swings with only one attack error. Fellow senior Callie Henson tallied double-digit kills with 11 in addition to a solo block and three block assists.
Sydney Healy was the final Eagle to earn double-digit kills with 10.
The duo of Ryleigh McBurney and Gabi Owczarek dished out 23 and 20 assists respectively. Owczarek also recorded 13 digs to earn her first double-double of the year.
Senior libero Krystal Brauner led the defensive effort with 30 digs while Annabelle Maassen added 11.
Central's strongest offensive push came in the opening set, finishing the opening frame with a .361 attack percentage.
The Eagles will finish up tournament play with two matchups Saturday, beginning with No. 13 Dakota Wesleyan (S.D) at 11:00 a.m. followed by Xavier (La.) at 3:00 p.m.
