CMU reserve volleyball wins CSC tournament championship

CMU reserve volleyball wins CSC tournament championship
Canton, Mo. - The CMU reserve volleyball team came back to Fayette victorious from the CSC Tournament. Central Methodist won every game on the day first against CSC (25-19, 23-25, 15-6), MVC Purple (24-26, 25-19, 15-7), WPU (25-19, 25-22). The Eagles then faced MVC Purple again in the championship, winning in straight sets (25-17, 23-25, 15-9).
 
Avery Hays led the offensive charge putting up 66 assists on the day, Mia Mueller chipped in 25. Maiya Wilmes led all attackers with 31 kills. Hope Webb added 21 kills (while hitting a .465 hitting percentage), Zoe Jennings and Jalani Brown each added in 15, and also in double digits kills were Olivia Soliz and Mia Mueller with 12 and 11 respectively. 
 
Hope Webb finished the day with 10 blocks to lead in that category. The Eagles had 22 aces on the day, 7 came from Maiya Wilmes, 5 from Avery Hays, and 4 from Rebecca Cavazos
 
Defensively the Eagles were solid from the back row as seven players had dig numbers in the double digits: Addison Butler (49), Avery Hays (31), Sarah Johnson (25), Maiya Wilmes (22), Jessica Mowry (19), Mia Mueller (16), and Rebecca Cavazos (11).
 
Emily Engemann made her 2020 season debut, finishing with two blocks per set and hitting .500 for the Eagles.
 
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 5:00 p.m. vs. MidAmerica Nazarene.
