Erne Tabbed as Heart Defensive Player of the Week

Erne Tabbed as Heart Defensive Player of the Week

Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist junior defender Basil Erne was slated as this week's Heart Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, which was announced by the conference office Monday.

Erne, a native of Uetikon am See, Switzerland, anchored the CMU defense to two clean sheets this past week.

Central began the week with an 8-0 win over Culver-Stockton followed by a 6-0 win over Clarke on Senior Day. He also recorded an assist in the win over the Wildcats Tuesday.

Erne and the Eagles have clinched the No. 6 in the Heart of America Conference Tournament, and will travel to Olathe, Kansas to face No. 3 seeded MidAmerica Nazarene Friday, Nov. 3 at 1:00 p.m in the quarterfinals.
