Lamoni, Iowa - The Central Methodist Men's Soccer team picked up a road victory against Graceland University by a score of 2-0 Saturday night in Lamoni, Iowa.
The Eagles are now 4-4-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the Heart, while GU falls to 3-6-1 and 1-3 in conference action.
After a scoreless first half, Central got some help from the Yellowjackets in the second 45, as an own goal in the 48th minute put CMU out in front 1-0.
Nawfal Hassani padded Central's lead to two with his first goal of the year in the 65th minute. Central's defense held Graceland to just seven total shots in the match, securing their second shut out of the year.
Liam Arthur, Mats Van Der Eerden, and Hassani all registered two shots for CMU, with both Arthur's and Van Der Eerden's coming on goal.
Niccolo Cabras played all 90 minutes in goal for the Eagles, picking up two saves in the victory.
Central will conclude its three game road trip against William Penn University Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
