Oskaloosa, Iowa - The Central Methodist Men's Soccer program fell to No. 14 William Penn University by a 4-1 score Wednesday evening in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Central now stands at 4-5-2 and 1-3-1 in conference action. The Statesmen improve to 7-1-4 and 2-0-3 in the Heart of America.
CMU found themselves trailing early, as William Penn tallied a pair of goals in a little over a two-minute span in the first half. Central's Martin O'Toole scored his second goal of the year in the 32nd minute to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The defense held off William Penn for the duration of the second half, before WPU scored in the 78th and 85th minutes to secure a 4-1 win.
Central struggled offensively against the Statesmen, as they fired off just five total shots. Koen Schimmel led the way with two shots, including one shot on goal.
Morris Van Tuinen played all 90 minutes in between the posts for CMU, picking up four saves in the match.
The Eagles return home to host Grand View University Sunday, Oct. 8 at 12:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
