Men's Soccer Ranked No. 21 in First NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll

Men's Soccer Ranked No. 21 in First NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll

Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Soccer team landed at No. 21 in the first edition of the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 poll, as announced by the national office Wednesday.

Other Heart programs featured in the Top 25 include No. 7 MidAmerica Nazarene, No. 11 William Penn, No. 17 Missouri Valley, and (RV) Grand View.

Central has opened the 2023 campaign with a 2-1 record, including victories over William Woods and Southwestern Christian (Okla.). Their lone loss came to NCAA Division II member Rockhurst University in Kansas City last week.

The Eagles will host the University of Missouri-St. Louis Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Davis Field for another non-conference matchup.

To view the poll methodology and the complete Top 25 poll, please see below.

Rating Methodology

  • The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
