Fulton, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's and Women's Golf programs opened up fall competition at the William Woods Fall Invitational Monday and Tuesday in Fulton, Mo. 

On the women's side, the Eagles finished fourth while the men posted an 11th place finish. 

For the women, sophomore Mechelle Vermillion led the way witha 10th place finish, firing rounds of 80 and 78 for a final score of 158. 

Freshman Lauren Williams tallied a two-round score of 177 in her first career tournament to finish 24th. Kali Brown followed, firing a final score of 181 to finish 28th. 

Karington Harrell, Emily Molitor, Brianna Klobe  and Caitlyn King also competed for the Eagles. As a team, CMU posted a final score of 704. Columbia College won the tournament with a final score of 607, followed by Lincoln University, and host school William Woods. 

On the men's side, freshman Cole Wiese landed in the top 10 with a two-round score of 147 to lead the way. Daniel Hake, Robert Hooper, Alexander Blase, and Vance Ross also competed for the Eagles. 

Columbia College took home first place on the men's side, followed by William Woods and Evangel to round out the top three. 

Central will next compete at the Missouri Valley Invitational beginning Monday, Sept. 25 at Indian Foot Hills Golf Course in Marshall, Mo.
