Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time this season, Central Methodist junior grappler Cameron Cornman was named the Heart Men's Wrestler of the Week by the conference office Monday.
It marks the first conference honor for the Eagles this year.
The native of Columbia, Missouri posted a 5-1 record last week, highlighted by a dual win over No. 9 ranked Elijah Hynes of Missouri Valley.
He then achieved a 4-1 record at the Missouri Valley Open on Saturday.
Cornman won four consecutive matches on his way to the 197-pound championship match of the Missouri Valley Open. His only loss came to NCAA Division I wrestler Jesse Cassatt from the University of Missouri.
Cornman and the Eagles will host Benedictine College Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 7:00 p.m. inside Puckett Field House on Senior Night.
