Marshall, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Wrestling team fell to Heart foe and No. 14 nationally ranked Missouri Valley College in a Thursday night dual, 35-17, in Marshall, Mo.
After dropping its first four matches, the Eagles middleweight classes rattled off three consecutive wins. No. 15 nationally ranked James Griffin started the scoring off with a 19-3 Tech Fall victory over Missouri Valley's Cole Patten in the 157-pound bout.
Fellow grappler Roman Garcia, who is ranked 15th at 165 pounds, earned a 10-4 decision over Jesus Gutierrez to tally three team points for the Eagles in the team scoring.
Redshirt junior Sincere Hall-Osbourne upset No. 19 Brenden Parks with a second-period pin in the 174-pound bout, tallying six more team points for Central.
The Vikings earned a first-period pin at 184 pounds before No. 20 Cameron Cornman earned an upset win over No. 9 Elijah Hynes with an 8-2 Decision at 197.
Missouri Valley closed the dual with a third-period pin at 285 to earn a 35-17 dual victory against CMU.
Central will return to Marshall to compete in the Missouri Valley Open on Saturday, Feb. 3 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
