Cedar Falls, Iowa - The Central Methodist Men's Wrestling team knocked off No. 20 nationally ranked Oklahoma City in one of three duals on day one of the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The highly touted tournament features 96 of the top wrestling programs in the country from the following divisions; NAIA Men, NAIA Women, NCAA Division II Men, NCAA Division III Men, NCAA Women, and NCWA Men.
In addition to Oklahoma City, the Eagles squared off against No. 6 Campbellsville and No. 18 Southern Oregon.
James Griffin, Cameron Cornman, and Austin Foye all picked up victories in Central's dual against Campbellsville in the morning session. Griffin secured a win over No. 16 Jake Hurst at 157 pounds, while Cornman knocked off No. 17 Grayson Stevens in the 197 pound bout.
Foye ended the dual with an upset victory over No. 14 Jaden Sonner at 285 pounds.
Central then squared off against the Stars of Oklahoma City, knocking off OCU 32-15.
Sincere Hall-Osbourne defeated No. 20 Kolbe Madron by an 11-2 Major Decision at 174 pounds. Additional victories for the Eagles against OCU included Jake Henson (184), Cornman (197), and Foye (285).
Central then concluded the day with a 46-0 loss to Southern Oregon.
CMU returns to action against No. 8 Providence (Mont.) on day two of the duals Saturday, Jan. 6 beginning at 11:00 a.m.
