Eagles Defeat Yellowjackets in Heart Dual Thursday Night

Lamoni, Iowa - The Central Methodist Men's Wrestling team improved to 4-1 in duals this season with a 30-16 victory over Graceland University Thursday night in Lamoni, Iowa. 

Redshirt sophomore and No. 6 nationally ranked Colton King opened the dual at 125 pounds with a pin over his opponent just 1:22 into the first period, giving CMU a 6-0 lead. 

Graceland rattled off three-straight victories in the next three weight classes, including two via Fall to jump out in front 16-6. 

No. 13 James Griffin started off a series of six consecutive dual victories for the Eagles at 157 pounds,, defeating his opponent by decision, 7-2. 

No. 16 Roman Garcia then pinned Jett Nelson of Graceland by Fall in just 1:23 in the first period, before Sincere Hall-Osbourne earned a victory by an 8-2 Decision to put Central out in front 18-16. 

In the 184 pound bout, Hayden Burks earned an upset victory over No. 21 Joseph Teguia via pin, followed by an upset win for No. 25 Cameron Cornman over No. 24 John Shuttler at 197. 

No. 21 Garine Gibson closed the match in the 285 pound weight class with a 3-2 victory by decision.
