Fayette, Mo. - Central Methodist Head Men's Wrestling Coach Graham Karwath announced the hiring of Martell Boone as the new assistant wrestling coach. He will serve as an assistant coach to both the men's and women's wrestling programs at Central.
Boone was a collegiate wrestler at the University of Missouri in Columbia for three seasons, wrestling in the 165-pound weight class.
While with the Tigers, he compiled a career record of 33-22, and helped the Tigers to three MAC Championships.
In addition, Boone was apart of the 2019 and 2021 squads that finished sixth and seventh at the NCAA National Championships respectively. He graduated from MU in 2023 with a Bachelors degree in General Studies.
He also competed in the 2019 UWW Cadet World Team Trials.
Boone attended Cahokia High School in Cahokia, Ill. He finished in second place at the Illinois State Tournament and helped his team to a runner-up finish as a senior in 2018. In addition, he placed sixth as a junior in 2017.
Altogether, Boone finished his high school career as a four-time All-Conference and three-time All-State selection.
