Kansas City, Mo. - Five members of the Central Methodist Men's Basketball program were named to Heart All-Conference teams, which was announced by the conference office Thursday.
Highlighting the group of five Eagles was TreVon Smith, who was tabbed as the Heart Newcomer of the Year and a First Team All-Conference selection. It marks the second-straight year an Eagle has earned Newcomer of the Year honors, as James Jordan won the award in 2022-23.
The trio of Everett Stubblefield, Trey Sinegal, and Peter Turay earned Second Team honors, while Isaiah May earned an Honorable Mention nod and landed on the All-Defensive team.
Smith appeared and started in all 29 games for the Eagles. The junior guard led Central in scoring with 18 points/game while also averaging 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists/game.
He scored a career-high 39 points against William Penn on Feb. 7 and was twice named the Heart Player of the Week.
Stubblefield earned Second Team honors for the second-straight year. The junior guard started in all 29 games in 2023-24, averaging 13.7 points/game. He also recorded 3.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.2 steals/game.
The native of Chicao, Illinois scored 20 or more points five times and tallied a season-high 34 points vs. Baker on Nov. 25.
Sinegal was a welcome addition the Eagles' lineup, as the junior transfer appeared in all 29 games with 15 starts in his first season.
He averaged 14.9 points and 4.8 rebounds/game while also shooting 38 percent from three and 82.3 percent from the charity stripe.
The Houston native was named the Heart Player of the Week on Dec. 18 after dropping a season's-best 27 points against Grand View.
Turay rounded out the Second Team All-Conference selections for Central. He played and started in all 29 games for the Eagles as a forward, providing a rebounding presence down in the low post.
Turay nearly averaged a double-double with 10.8 points and 9.1 rebounds/contest. He scored a season's-best 19 points on two different occassions and grabbed a season-high 21 rebounds against Culver-Stockton College on Nov. 21.
May was named to the All-Defensive team and earned Honorable Mention honors in his final season with CMU. The graduate guard played in all 29 games with 29 starts, averaging 9.6 points and 7.9 rebounds/game. In addition, he shot 52.8 percent from the floor and nearly 31 percent from three.
He also recorded a season-high four blocks against Missouri Valley College on Feb. 14.
