
Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Basketball team fell in a key Heart matchup against Graceland University 74-64 inside Puckett Field House on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the game, Central honored its 2023-24 Senior Class which included TreVon Smith, Peter Turay, Everett Stubblefield, Isaiah May, and Trent Lyles.
After Saturday's results, CMU now stands at 18-6 and 14-6 in the Heart of America, while Graceland moves to 18-6 and 15-5 in conference play.
Central held a 34-33 lead at the halftime, before Graceland outscored CMU 41-30 in the second half to secure a 10-point victory.
Stubblefield led the Central offense with 15 points including three three-point baskets. Smith chipped in 14 points while Trey Sinegal scored 13 coming off the bench.
Turay nearly recorded a double double with 10 points and nine rebounds, while May led the rebounding efforts with 11.
The Yellowjackets knocked down 10 three-point baskets and assisted on 16 of their made field goal attempts.
Central controlled the boards, outrebounding Graceland 42-33.
CMU will make a quick trip to Marshall to square off against Missouri Valley College Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles won the first matchup between the two teams by a score of 95-84 back on Jan. 3 at Fayette.
