Marshall, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Basketball team used a big second half to complete the season sweep over Missouri Valley College by a score of 90-67 Wednesday night in Marshall, Mo.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 19-6 and 15-6 in the Heart of America, while the Vikings fall to 11-14 and 10-11 in conference action.
CMU found themselves leading by just two at the halftime break, 32-30, before scoring 58 second half points. Central shot nearly 60 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes to secure a 23 point victory.
All five of Central's starters landed in double figures, led by Trey Sinegal.
The junior guard matched his season high with 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor. He also finished the evening with five rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Reigning Heart Player of the Week TreVon Smith scored 19 points and led the team with four three-point baskets. Everett Stubblefield finished with 15 points and matched his career-high with 10 assists to secure a double-double.
Isaiah May stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, four blocks and a steal in the win.
Peter Turay joined Stubblefield in the double-double club with 10 points and 12 rebounds. He also dished out a pair of assists and recorded a steal.
The Eagles did a majority of their damage from beyond the arc, knocking down 11 three-point field goals at nearly 41 percent shooting. Central also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Vikings 45-32.
In addition, Central forced 13 turnovers while committing only eight themselves.
CMU will next travel to Parkville, Missouri to face Park University Saturday, Feb. 17 at 4:00 p.m. The Eagles won the earlier matchup between the two teams, 96-85, back on Jan. 6 in Fayette.
