Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time in his CMU career, Central Methodist junior guard Trey Sinegal was named the WinWon Heart Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the conference office Monday.
The native of Houston, Texas had an outstanding outing in Central's 100-85 win over Grand View Saturday night in Des Moines. Sinegal led the Eagle offense with 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor and five-of-seven from three.
It marked his highest-scoring performance of the season and his second 20-point game in the last three contests. He also added seven rebounds to the Eagles' dominant effort on the glass.
Sinegal and the Eagles head into the holiday break at 10-2 and 6-2 in conference play. CMU will play host to rival Missouri Valley College Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
