Fayette, Mo. - Behind three double-digit scoring performances, the Central Methodist men's basketball team won its sixth-straight game to open the season, as the Eagles defeated the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis, 80-60, Monday night inside Puckett Field House.
The Eagles improve to 6-0, while the Eutectics fall to 2-4.
Senior forward Fode Camara led Central with his second double-double of the year, scoring 18 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in 28 minutes of action. Tim Cameron finished the evening with 17 points on 70-percent shooting from the field. He also collected four rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Jonathan Brown was the final Eagle to reach double figures, scoring 10 points, along with six rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a block. CMU finished the game shooting 43.4-percent from the floor compared to 39.3-percent for UHSP.
Central forced 20 Eutectics' turnovers on 12 steals, led by Fode Camara with three. Isaiah May joined Brown and Cameron with two steals.
CMU won the battle of the boards by double-digits, grabbing 48 rebounds compated to 38 for UHSP. 22 of their 48 rebounds came on the offensive glass.
Central remains at home to host Columbia College Thursday, Nov. 18 7:30 p.m. inside Pucket Field House.
