Central opens Show Me Global Logistics Classic with 20-point victory over Arkansas Baptist

Springfield, Mo. - Behind three double-digit scoring performances, the Central Methodist men's basketball program opened the Show Me Global Logistics Classic with a convincing 76-56 victory over Arkansas Baptist College Friday night in Springfield, Mo. 

With the win, Central improves to 4-0 overall while the Buffaloes fall to 1-6. 

The Eagles were extremely efficient in the first half, outscoring Arkansas Baptist 40-22. The Buffaloes matched CMU's offensive output in the second, scoring 34 points compared to 36 for the Eagles. 

However, Central's strong opening half propelled them to a 20-point victory. 

Jonathan Brown led the CMU offense with 23 points, in addition to six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Tim Cameron also reached double-figures with 15 points and nine rebounds, nearly earning a double-double. In addition, Cameron tallied three steals and a block. 

Charlie Bronakowski was the final Eagle to reach double-digit scoring, as he recorded 11 points in only 12 minutes of action. Isaiah May also had a productive evening, collecting eight points and grabbing eight rebounds. 

The Eagles won the battle of the boards with 48 rebounds compared to 29 for Arkansas Baptist. Fode Camara and Cameron led the way with nine boards each. 

Central's defense held the Buffaloes to 23.8-percent shooting from beyond the arc, and forced 19 turnovers on eight steals. 

The Eagle's continue day two of the tournament with a matchup against College of the Ozarks Saturday, Nov. 13 at 6:15 p.m.
