Brieana Delgado

Brieana Delgado

Brieana Delgado enters her fourth season at the helm of the women's wrestling program in 2022.

In 2019, Delgado built the women’s wrestling program from the ground up for the inaugural season. She led the program to a number of milestones in its first year, including two team victories and the program’s first NWCA All-American. Delgado also qualified five wrestlers to the NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Invitational, but the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She joined Central after a head coaching stint at Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, Calif. Prior to her time with the Broncos, Delgado served as an assistant women’s wrestling coach at her alma mater, Oklahoma City University. In her two seasons with the Stars, she coached 12 All-Americans and guided the team to back-to-back top-10 finishes at the national tournament.

Delgado also spent two years with the Oklahoma National Wrestling Association as an assistant coach and women's director for the Oklahoma national team. In this role, she coordinated practices and directed weight management for both the men's and women's programs. She also made a pit stop with the USA Wrestling World Team (U23) as an assistant coach at the 2017 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

In addition to her wealth of coaching experience, Delgado carries a decorated resume on the mat as a competitor. Boasting over 100 career wins at OCU, Delgado earned WCWA All-American honors four times. Internationally, she earned a bronze medal at the 2014 University World Championships. As a youth wrestler, she won two Fargo titles.

During her high school athletic career at Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville, S.C., Delgado was as well-rounded as they come, earning a varsity letter in seven different sports (cross country, soccer, wrestling, volleyball, lacrosse, football and swimming).

Delgado graduated from Oklahoma City in 2016 with a degree in secondary education and a minor in art.
