Six Individuals Nationally Ranked in Top 20 Preseason Poll

Six Individuals Nationally Ranked in Top 20 Preseason Poll

Kansas City, Mo. - Six members of the Central Methodist Women's Wrestling team are nationally ranked in the preseason edition of the NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top poll.

As a team, the Eagles are also ranked No. 16.

Redshirt junior and 2023 NAIA All-American Skye Realin is ranked No. 2 in the country at the 130 pound weight class, after finishing fifth at the national championships last year.

Junior Lillian Gough is just outside the top 10 of the 143-pound weight class at No. 11, while Victoria Nunez is ranked 14th at 116-pounds.

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native Allison Hynes is ranked No. 15 in the 123 pound weight class. The duo of Emily Neumann and Shianne Whited are 18th at 136 and 191 pounds respectively.

CMU is set to compete in the Waldorf Open Saturday, Nov. 11 beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Forest City, Iowa.

To view the poll methodology and the Complete Top 20 poll, please see below.

Poll Methodology

  • The ratings were voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the five conferences.
  • Two days prior to the national rating, each qualifying group rater submits the top 10 individuals from each weight class in the conference into the system. Only wrestlers listed on a conference ballot are considered for the national ballot.
  • The top 20 individuals in each weight class is based on how each voter ranks the best individuals. An individual receives 20 points for each first place vote, 19 for second place and so on through the list. This same point system is used to determine the team ranking.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
