Two Eagles Earn All-Conference Honors; Cook Tabbed Defensive Player of the Year

Two Eagles Earn All-Conference Honors; Cook Tabbed Defensive Player of the Year

Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's Basketball program garnered two Heart All-Conference selections, which were announced by the conference office Friday. 

Junior guard Zutorya Cook was named to the First Team, while senior forward B'Aunce Carter earned Honorable Mention honors. 

In addition to earning First Team recognition, Cook was also named the Defensive Player for the second-straight season while landing on the All-Defensive team. 

The native of Marietta, Georgia recorded 86 total steals for an average of 3.1 steals/game. 

On the offensive side of the ball, Cook led the Eagles in scoring with 14.5 points/game. She proved to be a vital piece of Central's squad this season, as she averaged 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists/game. Altogether, Cook appeared in 28 of 29 games the Eagles' played in with 28 starts. 

Carter appeared in 23 games for Central and averaged 14 points and 6.1 rebounds/contest. She reached double figures in 18 games, including a season-high 25 against Missouri Valley on Jan. 3.
