Fayette, Mo. - CMU Women's Basketball fell in its rescheduled home contest against Mount Mercy, 80-61, Tuesday night inside Puckett Field House.
The loss drops CMU to 9-9 and 6-8 in conference action while Mount Mercy improves to 11-7 and 9-6 in the Heart of America.
B'Aunce Carter led the Eagle offense with 12 points in just 11 minutes of action. The senior forward also shot 66 percent from the floor.
Genet Mebratu tallied 10 points and knocked down a pair of three-point baskets while tallying four assists and three rebounds.
Zutorya Cook stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Sharay Trotter finished the game with eight points while the trio of Miaya Ware, Tynesha Parnell, and Sa'Mya Stevens each recorded six.
Despite both teams being fairly close in terms of shooting from the floor, the Mustangs dominated the boards, outrebounding Central 55-37. In addition, 22 of the MMU's rebounds came on the offensive glass.
Mount Mercy also scored 38 points in the paint, compared to 26 points for the Eagles.
Central has a quick turnaround, as CMU will face Benedictine College Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in Atchison, Kan.
The Eagles won the earlier matchup between the two teams, 69-57, back on Nov. 29 in Fayette.
