Central Falls to Missouri Valley in Marshall

Marshall, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's Basketball team fell to Missouri Valley College by a score of 81-71 Wednesday night in Marshall, Mo. 

Central falls to 12-13 and 9-12 in the Heart of America, while the Vikings improve to 12-13 and 10-11 in conference play.

Junior guard Zutorya Cook scored 16 points to lead the offense while also adding four rebounds and four assists. Charli Wroe finished the evening with 14 points which included three three-point baskets. 

Sharay Trotter followed, stuffing the stat sheet with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks. B'Aunce Carter and Miaya Ware each chipped in 10 points, while Carter grabbed seven boards to lead the rebounding effort. 

As a team, the Eagles outshot the Vikings 50 to 42.1 percent but committed 22 total turnovers. Missouri Valley made 36 trips to the charity stripe, compared to just 19 for the Eagles.

The rebounding effort was even, as both teams grabbed 35 rebounds.  

CMU will next travel to Parkville, Missouri to face Park University on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2:00 p.m.
