Dubuque, Iowa - The Central Methodist Women's Basketball team fell in a tough road battle to the defending NAIA National Champions Clarke University by a score of 101-74 last Wednesday in Dubuque, Iowa.
The Eagles now stand at 2-2 and 0-1 in the Heart of America, while the Pride improve to 4-0 and 2-0 in conference action.
The duo of B'Aunce Carter and Zutorya Cook each tallied 18 points, while Cook nearly recorded a double-double with eight rebounds. Bryana Langford scored 16 points in 23 minutes off the bench, shooting seven-for-12 from the floor.
Tynesha Parnell was the final Eagle to land in double figures with 14 points, which included three three-point baskets.
Central could not contain the hot shooting of the Pride, as Clarke finished the evening shooting 57.6-percent from the field, and 11-of-18 from beyond the arc. CU also converted on 71-percent of their attempts from the free throw line.
The Pride outrebounded Central, 42-34 and dished out 22 assists.
CMU will look to bounce back with a road matchup against Culver-Stockton College Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 2:00 p.m. in Canton, Mo.
