Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Soccer team looked impressive in their 4-0 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange, in what was their final tune-up game before conference play Tuesday night at Davis Field.
From beginning to end, Central's offense proved potent, and they wasted no time opening up the scoring.
In the first five minutes of play, Vincent Stegmiller got the first goal of the match, his second of the season off of a Martin O'Toole cross from the right-side flank and into the box.
After continuing to control possession in the first half, Giulian Medeglia doubled the home side's advantage in the second goal of the match.
Medeglia, from over 30 yards out, scored a stunner of a goal, pushing Central's lead to 3-0.
Midfielder, Alvin Brämhagen, made a strong impression after coming off the bench in the first half and starting the second half.
In the 63rd minute, the native of Stockholm, Sweden recorded his third goal of the season, which was another stunner from outside the box.
To put the icing on the cake for the home side, Leonardo Chiulli tallied his first goal of the season on a great pass inside the box from Basil Erne to extend CMU's lead to 4-0.
Defensively, the CMU back line was more than impressive, holding the Trojans to just two shots the entire match and recording their fourth clean sheet of the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Niccolo Cabras earned his sixth win of the year in between the posts.
The Eagles will begin conference play on Saturday, Sept. 14 when they play Grand View University at 4:00 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa.
