Fayette, Mo. - The No. 5 Central Methodist Women's Soccer team pushed its early season record to 2-0 with a 4-0 shut out of William Woods University Wednesday night at Davis Field.
It didn't take long for Central to find the scoresheet, as Kirstine Lykke netted her third goal of the season in the ninth minute of play. She was assisted by both Kaede Yamaguchi and Andrea Jimenez.
Less than six minute later, Lacey Ann Murray scored unassisted to push Central's lead to 2-0. The Eagles would maintain that lead heading into the halftime break.
The score remained the same until the 85th minute of play, when sophomore Nerea Munoz scored her first goal of the year. Emma Doyle put the finishing touches on the match with a goal in the 87th minute, her first career goal as an Eagle.
Central finished the game with 11 total shots, including five on goal. William Woods managed just two shots and one on goal to conclude the night.
Madison Priebe earned her second win in between the posts, playing all 90 minutes and recording one save for the Eagles.
CMU remains at home and will host the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes Saturday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
