Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program continues to rack up postseason honors as two members of the men's team earned conference awards Monday.
Director of Track & Field/Cross Country, Kenny Anderson, was named the Heart Men's Outdoor Conference Coach of the Year, and junior thrower Colder Evans was tabbed the Heart Men's Field Athlete of the Meet.
Evans was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Meet after winning the conference championship in the discus with a throw of 50.15 meters. Additionally, the Unionville, Missouri native placed fourth in the shot put (15.01m) and sixth in the hammer (52.61m).
Anderson led the Eagles to a historic finish at the Heart Championships in Baldwin City. The men won the program's first-ever Outdoor Conference Championship, tallying 154.50 total points, 37 points more than second place William Penn.
It marks Anderson's sixth Heart Coach of the Year honor and first on the men's side. He was previously recognized as the women's indoor coach of the year from 2021-2023 and the outdoor coach of the year in both 2021 and 2023.
