Baldwin City, Kan. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program sent a group of athletes to the ZK Invite in Baldwin City, Kansas for one final tune-up meet Saturday.
Senior Dayana Montenegro placed second in the 100m dash in a time of 12.33 seconds, while Carter Hawkins earned a seventh place standing in the 400m dash 1:02.93.
Yanira Paninka won the 800m run, clocking a time of 2:19.40, nearly six seconds faster than second place. Haley Bellamy placed second in the 100m hurdles in 15.38 seconds, while senior Kailey Johnson finished sixth in 400m hurdles in a time of 1:08.75.
The 4x100m relay team of Montenegro, Hawkins, Paninka, and Johnson placed first with a time of 48.77 seconds.
Adrian Watson rounded out Central's athletes in Baldwin City, winning the 400m hurdles in 54.96 seconds.
CMU will turn its attention to the Heart Outdoor Conference Championships, set to begin Friday, May 3 in Baldwin City on the campus of Baker University.
