Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program saw five more Eagles punch their ticket to the NAIA Outdoor National Championships this past weekend, as the Eagles hosted the CMU Invite Friday and Saturday at Davis Field and Hairston Track.
In addition, the program also recognized its 2023-24 senior class Saturday afternoon.
The men's 4x100m relay team of Adam Trachsel, Chris Adekoya, Leroy Williams, and Caleb Cody-Jackson broke the school record and hit the 'A' standard in the race with a time of 40.65 seconds.
In addition, the 4x400m relay team comprised of Adrian Watson, Doriye Jackson, Jack Schiffhauer, and Quest Weller placed second in 3:21.28.
Williams competed in the 110m hurdles and clocked a new personal best of 14.22 seconds, which also hit the 'A' standard for national qualification. Adekoya made headlines in his outdoor debut in the 100m dash. The junior ran the race in 10.32 seconds to break the school record, which also marked the fastest time in the NAIA this season. In addition, he ran the 200m dash in a time of 21.41 seconds to finish second.
Adrian Watson placed third in the 400m hurdles in a time of 55.83 seconds.
In the middle-distance races, senior Doriye Jackson finished second in the 800m run in a time of 1:54.41. Meshack Kiptanui placed third in the 1500m run in 4:06.71.
Newcomer Viktar Kachalouski earned a third-place finish in the High Jump, clearing a height of 1.97 meters.
Colder Evans hit a personal best in the discus with a throw of 50.47 meters, also good enough to hit the 'A' standard. Brayton Stephenson won the shot put with a toss of 15.88 meters, while Evans placed third (15.01m). Additionally, Evans placed second in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 51.81 meters to round out a strong weekend for the junior.
Evan Workman competed in the javelin where he finished second with a throw of 50.58 meters.
In the decathlon, Ethan Smith totaled 6,239 points to secure his spot at the Outdoor National Championships in May.
On the women's side, Baleigh Morris hit the 'A' standard in the 5,000m racewalk with a time of 27:29.21. Dayana Montenegro won the 800m run in 2:17.85, while teammate Yanira Paninka finished second in the race in a time of 2:18.44.
Senior Kailey Johnson placed first in the 100m hurdles in 14.45 seconds. Renee Finke finished right behind Johnson with a time of 14.67 seconds.
Delaney Miller won the High Jump, hitting a mark of 1.65 meters. Haley Bellamy posted a second place standing in the same event, clearing a height of 1.60 meters. Amara Reichert earned a second-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 2.75 meters.
Claireece Cross finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 11.55 meters.
Baylee Beard placed third in the shot put with a throw of 12.79 meters, while Karli Wolfe won the discus with a throw of 40.75 meters. Teammate Kali Brown placed third in the discus with a toss of 39.57 meters.
Beard and Wolfe went 2-3 in the Hammer Throw with throws of 49.55 and 47.97 meters respectively.
Central will next compete in the Lincoln Open on Saturday, April 6 in Jefferson City, Mo.
