Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time this year, Central Methodist sophomore thrower Brayton Stephenson was named the Heart Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office Monday.
Stephenson competed at the Miner Invitational which was hosted by Missouri S&T this past weekend. The native of Harrisburg, Missouri hit the NAIA National qualifying 'A' standard in the shot put with a mark of 16.11m, finishing fourth.
In addition, Stephenson competed in the discus where he placed 16th with a toss of 38.63m. The event featured 68 athletes.
Stephenson and the Eagles are set to host the CMU Invite beginning Friday, March 29 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Davis Field and Hairston Track in Fayette.
