Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time this year, Central Methodist junior thrower Colder Evans was named the Heart Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office Monday.
Evans had an impressive outing in all three throwing events at the CMU Open this past weekend. He hit the 'A' standard in the Shot Put and the 'B' standard in both the Hammer and Discus.
He won the Shot Put with a final toss of 16.09 meters, as well as the Discus with a throw of 48.50 meters. He concluded his day with a first-place finish in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 53.64 meters, more than three meters better than second place.
Evans and the Eagles will next compete in the Miner Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T beginning Friday, March 22 in Rolla, Missouri.
