Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Track and Field program swept this week's Heart Outdoor Weekly awards, which were announced by the conference office.
Junior sprinter Chris Adekoya was named the Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while fellow junior Hunter Cary earned Heart Field Athlete of the Week honors.
It marks the second weekly honor for Adekoya and the first for Cary this season.
Adekoya placed fourth out of 75 competitors in the men's 100m dash at the John Jacobs Invitational in a time of 10.35 seconds. The time met the 'A' standard for national qualification into the NAIA National Championships later this spring. His time is currently third best in the country.
Cary also competed at the John Jacobs Invitational in the men's decathlon, tallying 6,440 points to finish first. He is currently the No. 1 decathlete in the NAIA and has qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
