Kansas City, Mo. - After a stellar showing at the CMU Open last weekend, Central Methodist Sophomore thrower Baylee Beard was named the NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week by the national office.
The award comes on the heels of her earning the Heart of America weekly award.
Beard placed first in two events, winning the shot put with a mark of 12.80m and the hammer throw with a toss of 53.19m. That hammer throw mark also hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championships.
Beard at the Eagles are currently competing in the Miner Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri.
