Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program swept the Heart Women's Outdoor Weekly awards Monday.
Kailey Johnson was named the Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Baylee Beard earned Heart Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Johnson earned first-place finishes in both the 100mH and as apart of the 4x400m relay at the CMU Open this past weekend.
The senior placed first in the 100m hurdles in a time of 14.38, hitting the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championships. She also placed first in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:13.35.
Beard placed first in two events, winning the shot put with a mark of 12.80m and the hammer throw with a toss of 53.19m. That hammer throw mark also hit the NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA National Championships.
The Eagles will next compete in the Miner Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T beginning Friday, March 22 in Rolla, Missouri.
