Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time in her career, sophomore Yanira Paninka was named the Heart Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office Monday.
It marks the third-straight week an Eagle has earned Heart honors from the Track and Field program.
Paninka hit the 'A' Standard for qualification into the NAIA National Championships in the women's 3,000m race walk. She finished first at the Principia College Relays with a time of 15:56.40.
In addition, she led the women's 4x400m relay team to a first-place finish in 4:05.14.
Paninka and the Eagles will next compete at the Bearcat Invite, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University beginning Friday, Feb. 2 in Maryville, Mo.
