Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist duo of Dayana Montenegro and Caleb Cody-Jackson were named the Heart Indoor Track Athletes of the Week by the conference office Monday.
It marks the second-straight week Montenegro has earned weekly honors, while it is Cody-Jackson's first conference recognition.
At the Concordia Polar Dog Invite in Seward, Nebraska Friday, Montenegro finished second in the 400m dash with a time of 58.61 seconds. The time was good enough to hit the 'B' standard for qualification in the NAIA Indoor National Championships.
Additionally, Montenegro won the 200m dash against a field of 53 athletes in a time of 25.93 seconds.
At the NAIA/JUCO Invite in Pittsburg, Kansas Saturday, Cody-Jackson broke the school record for the 400m dash with a time of 49.08 seconds. He also hit the national 'B' standard for qualification to the NAIA Championships.
The Eagles will next compete in the Principia College Relays beginning Friday, Jan. 26 in Elsah, Illinois.
