
Baldwin City, Kan. - The Central Methodist Football program had a tall task Saturday afternoon, as they squared off against No. 17 nationally ranked Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.
Central would ultimately fall to the Wildcats by a score of 62-7.
Baker capitilized on back-to-back pick sixes to take a 14-0 lead less than a minute into the game. The Wildcats extended their lead over Central on their first offensive possession, 21-0, and then reaching the endzone two more times before the end of the quarter.
BU tacked on three more touchdowns in the second to push their lead to 52-0 at the halftime break. A field goal for Baker in the third quarter made the score 55-0, before Central found the endzone at the 9:10 mark of the third quarter.
The Eagles' lone score of the game came following a 12 play, 75 yard drive that chewed up 6:38 on the clock. Central capped the drive with an 11 yard passing touchdown from Gavin Watts to Drake Dudley.
Baker would reach the endzone one final time with less than two minutes remaining in the game, making the final score 62-7 in favor of the Wildcats.
Central returns home to host William Woods University Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
