Eagles Fall to MidAmerica in Olathe

Olathe, Kan. - The Central Methodist Football program dropped a South Division road matchup against MidAmerica Nazarene, 59-12, Saturday afternoon in Olathe, Kan.

The Eagles fall to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in the Heart. MNU improves to 6-2 and 1-1 in conference play.

Central scored the first points of the game on a 37-yard field goal from Oscar Simon midway through the first quarter to take a 3-0 lead in the first.

The Pioneers responded with a field goal and a touchdown on their next two drives to take a 9-3 lead at the end of the quarter.

MNU would score 22 unanswered points in the second to extend their lead to 31-3 at the halftime break.

Following a touchdown from MidAmerica, Oscar Simon converted his second field goal of the game in addition to a 48-yard touchdown run from Drake Dudley in the second half to give Central its 12 points.

However, the Eagles were unable to stop MNU's high-power offense, as the Pioneers would go on to earn a 59-12 victory.

Kam Cole led the Central rushing attack with 58 yards on nine carries, good for almost 6.4 yards/carry. Dudley tallied 56 yards on three carries, including a rushing touchdown.

In addition, Dudley also caught four passes for 78 yards.

Joseph Slattery led the CMU defense with 11 tackles including a tackle for loss. Lontas Mcclinton finished the day with nine tackles while Nyjahl Vaughn tallied six.

Omarion Slaw recorded his second-straight interception in as many weeks on the opening possession of the game.

Central returns home to host rival Missouri Valley College Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Davis Field for Homecoming weekend.
