Des Moines, Iowa - The Central Methodist Football team suffered a tough 65-0 road loss to No. 2 nationally ranked Grand View University Saturday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa.
Central now stands at 1-4 to conclude cross division play while Grand View keeps their perfect record intact at 5-0.
The Vikings scored 35 first quarter points followed by 21 in the second to take a 56-0 lead into the locker room at the halftime break over CMU.
Grand View scored a touchdown in the third quarter followed by a safety in the fourth, making the final score 65-0 in favor of the Vikings. GVU generated over 400 yards of offense including 247 yards on the ground to wind the clock in the later stages of the game.
KeShawn Wilson finished the day with nine tackles followed by Joseph Slattery with seven, and Kyjuan Collins and Jerich Givens with six each. Nyjahl Vaughn and Omarion Slaw both recorded an interception.
Three different Eagle quarterbacks saw action against the Vikings including; Joe Cambridge, Gavin Watts, and Alvaro Ortega-Morales.
Central will next take on Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) in a non-conference matchup Saturday, Oct 7 at 12:00 p.m. in Bourbonnais, Ill.
