April (Smith) Ash was a prominent member of the CMC Women's Basketball team from 1996-2000. During her four years of playing, she was twice recognized as an All-American, twice as a Scholar All-American, and the National Player of the Week in January of 2000.

Her numerous records include; Career Points (1,892), Career Scoring Average (15 points/game), Most Field Goals Made (554), Single-Season Three Point Field Goals (206), Career Three Point Field Goals (247), Single-Season Free Throw Makes (206), Career Free Throw Makes (507), Highest Free Throw Percentage (87.7-percent). 

Ash received a bachelor's degree in biology from CMU in 2000. She and her husband, Brian '00, live in Ashland, Mo. April currently works in Jefferson City as a pharmacist.
