2012-13 Women's Basketball Team

The 2012-13 Women's Basketball team finished the year with a 25-8 record and a 12-6 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The Eagles raced out to a 16-1 record in the first half of the season, which included upset wins over NCAA Division I Chicago State and No. 9 MidAmerica Nazarene. Central jumped into the national rankings on December 12, 2012, the first national ranking for the program since the conference moved from Division II to Division I in 2008-09 and the first ranking since the 1999-00 season. CMU was ranked as high as No. 17 and finished third in the conference regular season standings. The Eagles made an appearance in the Heart Tournament championship game and qualified for the program's first-ever national tournament at the NAIA Division I level. It also marked the first national postseason appearance since the 1999-00 season.
