Elsah, Ill. - The Central Methodist Indoor Track & Field program took part in the Principia College Relays over the weekend in Elsah, Illinois.
Jaxon Hiser placed third in the pole vault with a vault of 4.50 meters. Brayton Stephenson and Colder Evans finished 1-2 in the shot put with throws of 15.33 and 14.80 meters respectively. Evans won the weight throw with a mark of 15.56 meters.
Leroy Williams won the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.30 seconds while Jack Schiffhauer placed second in the 500m run in 1:08.12. In addition, Schiffhauer also earned a fourth place standing in the 400m run in 37.09 seconds.
Ethan Smith and Hunter Mont Cary finished 1-2 in the heptathlon. Smith racked up 4693 total points to place first, with Cary tallied 4625 points in the second position.
On the women's side, Yanira Paninka hit the National Qualifying 'A' standard in the 3000m racewalk with a time 15:56.40.
Karli Wolfe placed second in the weight throw with a mark of 16.81 meters. Fellow thrower Kali Brown placed fourth in the same event with a throw of 13.55 meters, a new personal best.
Kailey Johnson won the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.17 seconds, while Parys Smith placed third with a time of 9.41 seconds. Tafaol Mohamed was right behind Smith, finishing fourth in 9.45 seconds.
In addition, Smith was second in the 300m run in 44.04 seconds. Claireece Cross competed in the pentathlon, where she finished third with 2639 total points
Junior Dayana Montenegro won the 500m run in a time of 1:16.27, followe by Paninka in 1:20.30 to place second.
To close the meet, the 4x400m relay crew of Montenegro, Mohamed, Johnson, and Paninka placed first in a time of 4:05.14.
Central will next compete in the Walter Cramer Invitational Saturday, Feb. 3 in Bourbonnais, Ill.
