Kansas City, Mo. - After a stellar showing this past weekend, Central Methodist senior pitcher Sebastian Escobar was named the Heart Pitcher of the Week by the conference office this week.
Against Grand View Friday afternoon, Escobar threw nine scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory over the Vikings. The native of Monteria, Colombia allowed just five hits and one walk, while striking out a career-high 12 batters.
Escobar now owns a 5-1 record with a 3.19 earned run average through 10 starts in 2024. In addition, the Eagles are now 30-7 and 16-4 in conference action.
No. 6 Central remains on the road and will next travel to Missouri Valley College for a four-game series beginning Saturday, April 13 at 1:00 p.m. in Marshall.
